Hi guys! Here is a family portrait I did with some of my favorite people. We took some photos by the Bay in Los Osos and then headed to the beach for some shots. Ava is just too cute. She is the perfect height for the shots of just her with her with her parents legs in the photo... so I took a lot like that. ha This was a really fun shoot. Here are some of my favorites.

This photo in comprised of some of my best friends. I am so grateful for Travis, Ash and Ava's presence in my life. In just one year we have gone from perfect strangers to amazing friends, allies and partners in a lot of things along with some other key friends :). I'm going to go out on a limb and post something rather personal instead of just the normal photoshoots... so bear with me. If you don't want to read it... no worries! Just enjoy the photos and no harm done. :)
Travis and Ashley moved here about a year ago when Travis got a job as the youth pastor at EL Morro Church of the Nazarene here in Los Osos. My dad has worked there for 6 years. Long story short we became good friends quick. Trav you are like a big brother to me, and Ash you have become such an important friend in my life.... and Ava... O goodness! How she brightens everyone's life. Working in ministry can be hard sometimes and I think it is important to recognize the good people are doing for others. I'm not sure the Eades know just how important their ministry in this area is and that is part of why I am posting this. El Morro Naz is an awesome church filled with some amazing people, but the church has had a rough run with youth pastors the past few years and we haven't had a solid college age/young adults ministry in years. The Eades, along with some other key friends, have played a huge role in really helping lift up the church in these areas. Their passion for the kids and people and really caring for others is amazing and infectious and I know has made a huge difference in a lot of young people's lives. I volunteer on Tuesday nights at the Naz for youthgroup and it is amazing to be a part of that. Travis and the church have also started a young adults service called The Well, (really for anyone who wants to come.. no age limit) on Sunday nights at the Naz at 6:30. This, personally, has impacted my life in a giant way. I attended the Well when it was just a bible study of maybe 6 people and when it was a larger bible study with just Scott and I leading woship and Travis preaching. In just a few months it has grown to a full blown service. Travis has passion that is pretty much unsurpassed by anyone else I have ever met. A passion for his family, friends,music, college basketball, MoTav sliders,haha Manchester Orchestra... and an amazing passion for teaching the word of God. I am so proud with where we are now as a church and as a youthgroup and I am so proud of what the Well has become. Thank you Scott as well, and Grant, Micah and so many others who have played a huge role in helping make the youthgroup and the Well what it is today.
Occasionally I have small group meetings with some of the girls from youthgroup. I asked them what they liked most about Travis as the youth pastor at El Morro and these were just some of their responses, "SO many things... He doesn't have to care, but he does. He loves us instead of judging us. He is so real and honest. He makes hard things to understand relateable and understandable. He is so caring and passionate. Relateable and kind." Thank you for being there for those kids. They are very grateful. Not to mention thank you for being awesome friends to me.
There is so much more to be said here but i'll just end it here with a thank you and a preview of the photoshoot we did the other day. I love you guys.

Wittenstein wedding

This is also a wedding from a while ago, but in an effort to try to catch up from all the graduation and moving madness I'm posting it now. :) This lovely couple was Bonnie and Jeran, they were such a joy to photograph. Such awesome individuals and a killer combo! They got ready at the Canary Hotel. The wedding was at the Santa Barbara zoo... which is a surprisingly fantastic venue! The flower girls all dressed up in animal patterns and wore animal ears and tails. haha Sooo cute. The Wittensteins were such a wonderful couple, it was a joy to shoot this wedding. Special thanks to Stephanie Browne for being my fabulous second shooter on this wedding.

Luke Senior portraits

Luke is one of the most delightfully unique people I have met. He is brilliant. He is going to a very small and very prestigious private college for an English major this year. I had the joy of taking his senior portraits. We went to two different locations, and he brought along some fun props. He is a fencer, so naturally, he brought his fencing gear for the photo shoot as well as some of his favorite books. Here are some of my favorites. :)

In honor of senior portrait season right now I'll be posting some of the senior portraits I have done lately. This particular session I did last year but realized I never uploaded it on here! So... here we go. This is Wynn, I knew her when she was in middle school and I was helping out as a youth worker and volunteer at El Morro Church of the Nazarene in Los Osos. So crazy that she is already in her first year of college! It was incredibly foggy that day, which any Los Osos natives knows is normal. We managed to get some fun shots even though we couldn't see more than a few hundred feet in front of us because the fog was so thick. Wynn is wonderful and we had a lot of fun on this shoot. Another one close to my heart. I've known Lauren my whole life, she is actually my Aunt believe it or not. :) Talk about a cute couple. These two are madly in love... and it is obvious to everyone around them. So wonderful to see couples like this. They came up all the way from the LA county to get photos done up here. They are getting married in just a few months and wanted to get engagement photos done as soon as possible. We shot in a few different places locally.

Here is an engagement shoot that is close to my heart. Stacey and I have been friends for 6 years now. :) She is the best boyfriend's sister I could ask for. I am so grateful for their whole family. That said, this photoshoot was a fun one for me. Stacey and Andrew have been together for 4 years now and are getting married this November! They are so sweet together. I can't shoot their wedding because I'm going to be a bridesmaid (super excited to go to a wedding as a guest this year! haha let alone part of the bridal party, it should be a really nice change of pace for me as far as weddings go). I decided to do engagement photos for them though so I could have some part in their wedding photography. :)

I was excited to get portraits of the whole Palmer family this time. :) The palmers are so very sweet and cute little Taylor is just a delight to work with. Taylor thinks it is pretty fun that we have the same name so she says my name as much as possible during the shoot. :) haha so cute hearing "Tayler" from her. Always a joy with this family, here are a few favorites from that shoot. Oh... and I got to buy this chair for the shoot which I am rather fond of... it is in my living room now. :)

To be honest, I am so unbelievably behind on blogging that the thought of figuring out which shoot to post first is intimidating. :) So I just decided to post the first shoot that comes to mind and I'll just mix in photos from the last 6 months or so in between the new posts. I'll start with a photo party I did a while back. My wonderful aunt Leahna is one of the leaders of a mom's group in Ventura. She sets up photo parties every once in a while for me where people pay a flat rate for a 20 minute shoot and get there choice of a few of the photos from the shoot. Leahna found an amazing location in Ventura county to do this phtoshoot at. If you follow my work at all you know I LOVE shooting in fields... let alone beautiful fields of yellow flowers! Photography heaven! :) Here are some of my favorites from that shoot. :)

Graduation, moving, full-time business.

So it has been way too long since I last posted on here. I've been pretty good about updating my website with new photos but have been soo busy the past 8 months or so that I haven't posted on here. I graduated Brooks early In April. :) Woohoo! I moved back to Los Osos and I am working on my business fulltime now. Things are finally settling in and it feels great. I will be posting tons of things soon, some brand new and some catching up from this year. :)

The Gailey's

I got to take family photos this month of some of my favorite people and models. :) The Gaileys are an adorable family. Jonnell is one of the co-owners of Events Redefined http://www.eventsredefined.com/ so she was able to get access to the Flying Caballos Ranch House In San Luis Obispo for an hour that morning. What a wonderful venue it is! There are endless places to take photos at this house. This was a really fun shoot to do for some awesome people. Here are some of my favorites.

Family mini photo sessions

I did another mini-photo session this year for christmas photos. We went to the Camarillo Ranch (http://camarilloranch.org/home/), which is such a wonderful venue! I think there were a total of 10 families involved in the shoot this year. It was great seeing everyone and getting to see the Christmas cards with my photos on them. That is always such a wonderful thing to get in the mail! It reminds me of how blessed I am to be doing this job. Thank you for all of you who sent me a card with these photos on it this year and thank you to all the families involved on this day. Triston and a few of London too

If you've followed my blog posts you have seen this cutie before. Triston is the son of two of some of my favorite people, Todd and Jonnell. I occasionally just have my camera on hand when we are hanging out or out climbing or slack-lining, so sometimes I grab a few of Triston and London in a more candid way than I do my for traditional photo shoots.Thought I'd share a few of my favorites lately. :) I was pretty stoked, I took enough photos of the Gaileys this year for them to do an entire photo album for their family members comprised of my images. What an honor! :) I love you guys.

I went to highschool with Patricia, Lily's mom, and I was really excited when she asked me to take photos of her adorable little girl a while ago. Lily is so cute, and loves her grandma's iphone! Hehe when she got fussy we would give her the iphone for a while and she would hold it up to her ear and act like she was talking to her mom. So cute. Patricia had to work on the day of the shoot so Grandma stepped in and helped out and hung out with us while we did the photo shoot. She was so helpful! :) I had a lot of fun on this shoot (as usual) and Lily is just so darn cute! Here are some of my favorites!

Photo Parties

One of the new things I started doing this year was photo parties. My aunt is the head of a mom's group and we worked out some special prices for families to do mini sessions all in the same day. Each family got 15-20 minutes and their choice of 8 digital negatives from the final images. These parties are a great way of getting to know new families and clients. I think we had around 12 families for this studio mini-shoot. Since I slacked so much in posting each session the past few months I'll just post my favorites from these mini-shoots on here. Thank you Alisa for opening up your living room to become a children's photography studio for a day! Kids are such a riot to work with, always unpredictable and fun. Here are my favorites. :)

I'll start by saying it has been way too long since I've last posted on here. I'm sorry about that. Things have been really busy and crazy in my life the past few months and sometimes I get behind on the things that aren't quite as time sensitive like blogging. This week I have off and have nothing planned, therefore I have no excuse not to post about all of the shoots I have been working on lately.
There have been a lot of changes in my life lately, some hard (but probably in the end for the better) and some blatantly wonderful changes like my being added to the Foto Cielo wedding photography team! http://www.fotocielo.com/#/tayler-bio/ :)
I am graduating early from Brooks Institute of Photography this April! That is four months away! I can't believe it, it has gone by so fast! Lots of changes and lots to do the next few months. Sometimes life just goes by so fast it is hard to catch up. As much as I have loved going to Brooks, I am super excited to be done and be able to focus on my business full time as well as focusing on working with the Foto Cielo team. Things will seem a lot less crazy when I'm not doubling up on my classes to graduate early as well as doing over 15 family shoots, second shooting 10+ weddings, throw in some senior portraits and shooting two of my own weddings which is what I have done in the past few months. It has been crazy, but such a blessing! I am so blessed with such wonderful clients! Thank you to each and every one of you! You make my job SO much fun! So with all this talk of photo shoots, be ready for many posts to show up on here within the next week. I will try to get some samples of most of the shoots i've been working on up here soon.

I have photographed her big brother and sister a lot over this past year and it was so awesome to capture this wonderful age on camera. She is so darn cute! I decided to throw these in the mix to break up all the different photoshoots and show something a little more personal to me. Friends,camping, and rockclimbing, a pretty awesome combination. Grant and I recently went camping with our good friends Jonnell and Todd and their two cute rugrats, London and Triston. We went to the Sequoia National Park and even got to climb off the railing at Moro Rock which is 4,000 feet above the valley floor. Pretty fun! By far the most fun about this climb was the comments we got from tourists watching. Amazing little London(3 1/2 yrs old) even insisted on climbing it "all by myself without daddy!"! pretty awesome! Here are some of my favorite snapshots from the trip along with a few i took real quick before we left for the trip. Hope you enjoy. :)

Little London climbing Moro Rock! Don't worry...London is completely fastened safely in her harness. Although it looks like Todd is holding her up with the rope, it is quite the contrary. Grant is belaying London behind Todd... meaning Grant is making sure London is completely secure with the correct belay devices etc. Todd is holding the rope to help take some of her weight and to direct her where to go. I know it may sound like BS saying "everything is safe, she's fine." But Todd is a fire fighter and teaches climbing safety, we have the upmost respect for climbing and its dangers and put great importance in being as safe as possible whenever climbing. Believe me, we also wouldn't have her climb unless she said she wanted to, and she insisted on climbing this rock. :) such a cutie. These photos will be pretty rad for her to show her friends when she is older!

Blue Whales

I went on a SubSea Tour whalewatching trip a few weeks ago with Ryan and Grant. There are Blue Whales in the water right now not to far off the coast, apparently this is somewhat rare so it was pretty neat to see it in person. :) They are the biggest animal on the planet!

Steph and Tim

Stephanie and Tim are one of the cutest couples at Brooks. I've been going to school with them for two years now and they are adorable together. This was an impromptu photo shoot I did in 15 minutes or so after steph finished photographing Grant and I in Morro Bay. Steph's shoot was just as short, a way of keeping our (not-so-excited to take photos) boyfriends happy. Afterwards we went to Tacos De Mexico, mmmm! :) Thanks guys... more specifically thanks Tim for putting up with taking photos! Haha I wish the majority of guys were more interested in having photos being taken of them! :)

These photos were also taken for an assignment at brooks. Nancy and Jamie are always fun to shoot and are some of my favorite models. They are pretty cute together and always a riot to hangout with. Jamie plays the standup bass in a band called Cadillac Angels; thus the standup bass in the photos. I wanted this shoot to be all about them and their personalities and style. I love shooting in fields... pretty much my go-to for any type of session at least for a few shots. I am pleased with the way they turned out. Thanks guys... and thank you Jamie for carrying that bass out there into the field!! :)

Annie and Tom are dear friends of my family. They are such a beautiful couple. The two of them radiate adoration and respect for one another. I am currently taking Portraiture 300/ Wedding class at Brooks. Our first assignment is an engagement shoot. I cheated a little bit and used Annie and Tom. In reality, they have been married for over 20 years, but they are so cute I don't care. As Annie said, "He is still my boyfriend you know.":) I had a lot of fun with this shoot, thanks so much for doing this with me guys!

Bears at Sequoia National Park

One of the camping trips I took with my Nature class this last session was to Sequoia National park. It's about five hours away and so beautiful. One of the coolest things about this trip was the amount of bears we got to see! I was also lucky enough to check out the canon 500mm lens from my teacher the day we saw most of the bear action! Score! :) I am going to do a post on my favorites from the nature class... decided the bears deserved their own post. :) We saw six black bears one day including two cubs! Soo cute! Here are some of my favs!

I have tons of material including these photos coming up as well as four weddings, and a few personal camping and climbing trips to blog about! SOooo behind! I am, however, enjoying my three week summer and taking some time off... so I guess that is my excuse. :) As I mentioned a few weeks ago I took a Nature Photography class last session taught by Ralph Clevenger (ralphclevenger.com). It was so wonderful, full of adventures,camping trips, climbing, and lots of cute little creatures. I even got to do a whole editorial piece on rock climbing. :) An excuse to climb and blame it on school! :)

We found a lady bug hatchery! soo amazing!

This was the most sorrow filled moment of our camping trips... this baby Sealion has fishing line wrapped so tight around its neck that it has been forced to grow around it... resulting in the poor baby's neck to be cut into and become one with it. So so sad. There wasn't anyway to get the fishing line out. It looked as though he just knew he wasn't going to make it and was giving up. We called a marine rescue place... but I don't know if they made it out there in time. :(

One of the most fun i've had doing a school assignment.

This climbing project is one of my favorites at Brooks so far (not because I feel like I did a particularly awesome job at it... actually there are a lot of things I wish I could change or that I didn't get to and would love to do) but It was awesome because I got to go play and climb and blame it on homework!! :) I was in a nature course last session and the final for the session was to do an editorial piece on something nature-related. Of course the thought of having tons of excuses to rock-climb appealed to me. :) I chose to do my editorial on popular climbing places on the Central Coast... mostly San Luis Obispo. I feel that I still have a lot to learn when it comes to sports photography, as this was my first attempt at anything like this. I was on rope for most of these photos... meaning I was dangling as high if not higher on a separate rope next to the climber being photographed. That in itself was an interesting thing to get used to... let me take my expensive equipment up a rock and trust myself not to drop myself or the camera. It took a few trial runs to figure out if me climbing with my camera and then having the belayer just hold me in place while I took photos, or if me ascending up the rope myself is a better theory.... actually they both work.. still not really sure both kind of a feat. Anyways... I ellicited the help of many of my friends... especially Grant... this project wouldn't have been finished without him. Thanks so much for setting up the routes and helping me figure out the best ways to go about taking these photos, and for going out multiple times with me to get this done! Thanks everyone who helped, or was one of my models! I really appreciate and had a lot of fun with you guys! :)

Kretschmer Family

Meet the Kretschmer Family. I was referred to this family from one of my previous clients who happens to be Naoko's good friend. The Kretschmer family moved back to Japan the day after we did this photoshoot! It was extremely foggy and the biggest little one didn't like being in front of the camera too much which made it interesting, but overall it was a really fun shoot and we ended up getting some good shots. I recently got an email from Naoko saying that the cute little dog in these photos passed away just a few days after the photoshoot which makes these photos extra special for them. I'm glad we got to take some photos with him in there!

Nature Photography Class

As most of you know, i'm an upper division student at Brooks Institute of photography. The past few sessions I've been taking portrait classes which have been wonderful, but pile on a few portrait assignments a week plus all the family sessions etc.. i've been doing the past few months and you are one busy person. Brooks is year-round and goes by 7-week courses. During those 7 weeks you take one photo class and one General education class. Last session I took a portrait photo class and two general education classes in anticipation for this nature photo class. This session the only class I am taking is the Nature class taught by Ralph Clevenger(awesome teacher and photographer... http://www.ralphclevenger.com/). This class has been a complete change of pace, and it has called for a little bit of adjustment. It is wonderful, I am forced to slow down and enjoy nature on an even deeper level than hiking and rock climbing. This class is allowing me to look at things in nature as photographs again, (not as scenes to take photos of people in). My passion of photography started by taking macro shots of flowers... yet throughout the past two years at Brooks i've been distracted and I've lacked the motivation/time to slow down and enjoy the little things in life again. So long story short, I'm completely loving this nature photo class. Here are some of the recent stuff I've been taking.

The fifth wedding that I ever shot was of this cutie's parents. This is Lena, one of the happiest babies you will meet. These photos were taken for an assignment at Brooks. I needed to take three different photos using the same type of style. The photo was also suppose to be made with a wall portrait in mind... meaning it had to show more of the scene than just the person and show it in an artistic way. Since I love fields and yellows and cute little babies, I decided to make these photos. Here are my favorites I ended up deciding on the first for the big print I turned in.Thanks Christine and Terry for letting me take photos of your adorable little girl!

Renshaw Family

I had the pleasure of photographing the Renshaw family with their new baby boy Logan at their home last week. Logan was 7 weeks old, not typically the time you do baby photos, but it ended up working wonderfully.Logan has the most beautiful blue eyes! Mommy and Daddy went to the same high school only a grade apart, but didn't meet eachother till a mutual friend's wedding! What are the odds! This is an adorable family and I had a lot of fun working with them. They have a little dog named ella who was extremely excited to hangout with us, but everytime I aimed my camera at her she barked like there was no tomorrow.. poor thing probably thought it was going to get her. haha Here are some of my favorites :)

I normally don't post many personal adventures on my blog but I went a few weeks ago to an amazing location called Wagon Caves (about an hour and 45 minutes from Morro Bay) with my boyfriend and two of our really good friends. It was also the FIRST time i've ever taken my professional camera out with me when we were climbing... i've always taken my little point and shoot but never the daddy camera out. Soo to celebrate my first photographic-rock-climbing adventure, a beautiful location, and amazing friends I've decided to post these on here to share with you guys! Grant had gone to this same location the day before and he said it was super hot and sunny.... when we went with him this day it was completely freezing and almost raining(luckily it didn't) so we were bundled up the whole time. The rock is also sandstone which feels like sandpaper on your hands.. haha not a great combo when your hands are freezing. It was still really fun. I tried my first 5.11c... and failed completely, but the guys did amazing! Here are just a few of the many photos we took. :)

computer crash

My computer just stopped working two weeks ago... which I now know was due to the logic board dying. I didn't have my computer for a week and a half while it was being repaired... good thing I back up all my files thoroughly! I am also really thankful for it only being my logic board and that my hard-drive was still completely intact. Long story short- I have apple care which saved me about $1000 last week... thank goodness; and I haven't been able to do much computer/editing-wise the past week or so. I got my computer back this week and I was just wrapping up a portraiture class at Brooks so I was still very busy. Finally... week break this week. :) Lots of climbing, my birthday, and lots of editing and blogging of some more recent work!

The portraiture class I am in at Brooks this session is all about family and babies, thus the reason there are so many family and baby photos lately. Unlike some people in the class, i'm loving every minute of it. Family and children portraits are so much fun! This assignment was to take a family portrait in the studio. Now I have to admit, studio work is not my favorite but I still think we came out with some really cute photos this session.
These are of the Fays, Tim, Erin and their little 2 month old-cutie Corbin. Tim and Erin have been together since high school! They are all soo cute together. At two months old babies don't necessarily even smile yet so I was pretty excited that we got some cute facial expressions from little Corbin. :) Here are some of my favorite shots :)

I had an assignment for school where I need to take a family portrait and 8 different portraits of a 2-6 year old. So I asked my good friends Jonnell and Todd if they wanted to be the family. :) I photographed their sweet little London (3 yr old) for the child shoot and then took some family shots with their newest rugrat Tristan as well. These are the type of shoots I LOVE to do! This has been one of my favorite shoots these past few weeks. It was such a perfect day outside, the weather was amazing! The perry's property is always beautiful at sunset time. London was such a great little model for me. She was so excited about the balloons, and once we got there we realized that one of the balloons was not floating very well anymore so we cut it off from the rest of them... of course cute little London had a heart for the lonely one balloon and took quite the liking to it. We had to convince her to hold all of the balloons.. she just wanted that one, so cute! :) love you guys! Hope you like them!

I have been doing photoshoots like crazy the past week and haven't had time to post any with school and the shoots and editing. But I have a free Friday today so i'll be posting some today and this weekend. :)
These next photos are from an Group Easter Photo-shoot I did with my Aunt and some of the mom's from her mom's group. Each session with a family was 15 minutes. I ended up shooting over 20 families in two days. It was a little crazy, but fun! I never knew what a good leg workout you can get from bending over to take photos of kids 5 hours straight. It was really fun and there are way too many photos to post on here so I'm just going to post some of them. :)

So every time my mother sees a family photo I have taken... without fail she says "aweeeehhhh I want you to take ours!! I wish you could! (with a sad puppy dog look on her face) " So I finally attempted it after all these years of her asking me to. Here is the result. Camera on tripod, flash on stand, and self timer on. I decided to just reenact the Perry Family shoot I did a few weeks ago again, simply because I liked how it came out... and for a self family portrait I wanted it in a place I had already shot. I was using my wide angle lens so we were actually pretty far away from where the camera was so when I pressed the shutter I had to race to my family and sit down and make it look natural. haha They turned out alright. Although I'm not sure how I like the matchy-matchy look in clothes we are going for in this one.. didn't really think that one through. haha anyways Here are my favorites and some of my favorites I took of just My Parents. I love you guys! Thanks for sitting in the freezing cold to take these photos!

Ryan, Senior Portraits

This past weekend I did senior portrait for a senior at Morro Bay high school. She really wanted natural looking photos outdoors.. so again, I used the Perry's range property because it is just so beautiful this time of year. The shoot went great! We got there around 1:30 and probably started shooting at 1:45. Luckily we started that early, because at 2:30 it started pouring rain! We only had one more shot to do, so we did that quickly and then ran to our cars to get out of the rain. It was a really fun shoot, Ryan was great! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot. :)

Perry Family

Meet the Perrys. :) Ed,Suzi, and their three daughters Jonelle, Noelle, and Rebecka are such a sweet family. O, and don't forget Maggie the dog (which even by her loving owners is described as so ugly she's cute) lol I met Jonelle in a high school youth-group quite a few years back, and met her family at other times as well. I hadn't seen much of them when I moved away for college until I discovered this amazing field of yellow flowers and grass on a turn off the highway close to Morro bay. I went to the house whose property I assumed it was to ask if I could get permission to take photos there. Turns out the house was the Perry's, which was awesome for me because they graciously gave me permission to take photos there. I used it once for a shoot last year, and have used it several times in the past few weeks because I just love how colorful and beautiful it is on their property. In thanks for letting me use their property so much I offered to take some family photos of them. I had an assignment at school where we had to take a pictorial photo... photo that was more about the environment and the relationship between the people. So i took the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone and give the Perrys a gift of a family session and I got to use it for credit in my portraiture class. Perfect. :) They were really fun to work with, and what better fit than to use the beautiful landscape that is in their own backyard! When Suzi saw one of the photos on the back of my camera as we were shooting and she said " Awe... us on Our Land." and I felt like I had done my job. That is exactly what I wanted this shoot to be, a document and a photo that their family can cherish... of them.. on Their land. :)

Linsey and Michael

I went to high school with this cute pair. They've been together for a few years now and even secretly dated during high school. They are really fun and linsey is all full of smiles. :) I asked them to model for me for an assignment at school. The assignment is to shoot a pictorial photo... photos that you would want to hang on your wall as art. I've been inspired lately by all the fields around and how everything is growing and so full of color. We went to a field in Los Osos and took the first few shots, and then moved to the bay for some boat photos. The only problem was that I forgot to take a look at a tide book....thats the last time I will do that.... (I had checked the water at around 4:15 that day and it looked fine, low.. but still enough water... by the time we got there at 5:15 all the water had gone except for the small amount of water in the channel. ) I don't know if you have been by the back-bay on a low tide... but if you try to walk on the mud... you sink up to your knees in muck. haha it was an adventure getting the boat out into the mud and angle it so that it looked like there was water in the bay. Studio work

I had an assignment where I had to photograph a subject in the studio and be creative with it. My friend Amber modeled for me, she is such a great model. You just give her a general idea of the pose you want and she is just brilliant with moving and looking fabulous. The photographs needed to incorporate hands in a graceful way. (And no... she wasn't nude.. she had a strapless bra on... photoshop... actually i just realized that i uploaded the unedited version of the first photo.. so you can actually see the bra. oops. I'll have to change that). :) I am pretty pleased with how the photos turned out other than that :).

I was lucky enough to receive a renewable scholarship my first year in college, and each year I have to update the scholarship committee on how I am doing and what school is like, I also always put in a small sample of some of the work i've done that year. Here is the one I gave them this year.

Christmas Family photos

I've been horrible about putting new stuff up lately, and I don't really have much of an excuse... but today i'm going to try to make up for that. :) The beginning of December I did what we called a photo party with my Aunt Leahna and some of her friends. I had six photo shoots scheduled for one day.. each photoshoot thirty-minutes. It doesn't seem that intense but I felt like I had just shot a 9 hour wedding by the end of the day. It was also really fun though, and the kids were adorable.It was the first time i've ever used christmas props for a photoshoot, my aunt and I hauled a tree, rocking horse, and a mini piano onto the beach. haha But overall it turned out really good. Here are some of the photos from that day. :)

The Blacksmith wedding

I got the pleasure of photographing my friends Josh and Jana's wedding on December 19th. It was such a blast. Josh and Jana have been together since high school and everyone has been waiting for this day. Josh and Jana have such an amazing love for each-other, it was so wonderful to see them share this day together. It was so great to be able to photograph this wedding. We took a lot of photos, and the bridal party was great! There was no complaining just more suggestions for more shots we could do.... you don't always get that! It made for some really fun photos that showed the couple's and their friend's personalities. Jana's maiden name is Black and Josh's last name was Smith... So instead of Jana just taking Josh's last name... they decided to change both of their names to Blacksmith. So cute. Here is a preview of some of the best photos of the wedding. :) Thanks again Blacksmiths! It was so fun!

Mom and baby group 2 year anniversary!

My Aunt Leahna started a mommy's group with over 30 moms in it! They had the group's two year anniversary today at a park in Ventura and hired me to take some photos during the party. :) There were soo many kids running around all under the age of 3! So fun! The lighting wasn't perfect because it was at twelve in the afternoon but I still managed to get some pretty cute shots. Thanks girls for letting me celebrate your group's anniversary with you!

Ben's Senior portraits

Ben didn't get senior portraits taken his senior year... so he called me to do "senior portraits" his first year at Cal Poly for his parents. He wanted it outdoors so we chose sweet springs again. I was able to take photos of Josh and Jana yesterday down by the bay and at sweet-springs. Josh and Jana have been together for 5 years now and will be getting married in December. They are such a fun couple. They love doing things outdoors so we tried to encompass that into their shoot (jumping photos, the row boat). I am really pleased with how they turned out. I'm so excited to shoot their wedding in just a few months! I put a whole bunch of the photos on here because I just couldn't choose between them! Congrats Josh and Jana! Renewal of Vows

Last week I got the pleasure of photographing a renewal of vows. Michelle and Pat live in Tennessee and have been together twenty-five years this year! They came out here to visit family and friends and to renew their vows in honor of their twenty-fifth anniversary. Their daughter Macy was the flower girl/ ring bearer. The weather early that day was horribly windy and cold, but about an hour before the ceremony the wind calmed down and the fog rolled away it was wonderful! I shot a wedding with Art Suwansang (wedding64.com) last weekend. It was at a horse ranch in Paso Robles. It was a beautiful wedding, but it was 107 degrees that day! Boy was it hot! The couple was adorable though, and the wedding went great. Here are a few of my favorites from the wedding :)

K Family

The Loomis family recommended me to the K family, so I got the joy of shooting their pregnancy/Family photos as well. Daniella and Martin moved here from Germany a few years ago with their beautiful 2 year old Sophia, they are only here for a few more years so they are thoroughly enjoying their time near the beach while they can. The K family just bought a new VW van and wanted to encorporate that into the shoot, which was fun. We took some shots at their house and then headed down to the beach just in time for the sun to come out. I'm really pleased with how the photos came out. :) Sophia is just the cutest little thing!

I can't Believe Daneilla is only a few weeks away from having a baby but she was jumping and doing all kinds of fun stuff on the beach. so cute.

Loomis Family

I recently did a photoshoot with the Loomis Family. Leahna and Chad have an adorable 2 year old named cole and they just recently had a beautiful baby boy named chase (who was in Leahna's tummy at the time of the shoot). Family shoots are always fun, you never know what mood the little ones will be in but Cole did great(especially with the marshmellow bribes) :) and we got some fun shots at the beach on a very overcast day.

Hi guys! I'm not much of a blogger per-say... but I decided to start one so my clients could see a little more into my personality and see photos from recent shoots that might not be on my website. I am a Portrait photographer (weddings, engagement, Family, baby, pregnancy, all that fun stuff) I am compelled to take photos that make you smile. I have a deep passion for my work and I absolutely adore what I do. I love candid shots.. that once pieced together can create a feel for the mood, relationship, time or event. I take pride in capturing and preserving precious memories.

I am a current Brooks Institute of Photography student, so I will probably be frequently adding some work from each new session as well.. hope you guys enjoy these photos, and I hope to see you soon!
